  • Deputy Commissioner honored 07 farmers who managed paddy stubble using agricultural machinery

    Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kulwant Singh, IAS and the dynamic leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Mr. Akash Bansal, Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Mansa organized a one-day district level training program for awareness regarding carbon neutrality at Panchayat Bhawan, Khiala Kalan where about 320 farmers participated.
    Addressing the farmers on this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kulwant Singh said that the main objective of this program is to create awareness about the adverse effects of increasing amount of carbon in the atmosphere and the steps required for carbon neutrality. He said that due to increasing carbon, the temperature of the atmosphere is increasing, due to which agricultural crops and allied industries are being affected.
    Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Mr. Akash Bansal appealed to the farmers to contribute to carbon neutrality as per the opinions and points of experts. Chief Agriculture Officer, Dr. Harpreet Pal Kaur said that efforts are being made under CRM scheme to manage paddy stubble.
    Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kulwant Singh honored 07 farmers Ram Singh of village Jhereyanwali, Jagsir Singh of village Khiali Chahlanwali, Gurpreet Singh of village Jhereyanwali, Jasvir Singh of village Jawaharke, Gagandeep Singh of village Nangal Khurd, Sukhpal Singh Boha and Sukhwant Singh son of village Riond Khurd for properly managing paddy stubble using agricultural machinery.
    On this occasion, Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Director Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mansa, Dr. Pritpal Singh, Senior Scientist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dr. Chamandeep Singh, DPD (Atma) and Dr. Harvinder Singh, Agriculture Officer, Dr. Parameshwar Kumar, Horticulture Development Officer, Dr. Satvir Kaur, Dairy Department were present.
