Important meeting held regarding National Child Health Activities

Following the directions received from the Civil Surgeon of Tarn Taran District Dr. Gurpreet Singh Rai, an important meeting of the medical officers associated with the Rashtriya Bal Swastha Karyakram (RBSK) was held at the office of the Surgeon under the able leadership of the District Vaccination Officer Dr. Varinder Pal Kaur. On this occasion, instructions were given to spread awareness and health check-up of the students in the schools about various health programs being run by the Health Department.

In his address on this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurpreet Singh Rai said that maximum awareness should be created among the schools about the respiratory and 100-day TB awareness campaign being run by the department. He said that whenever the RBSK teams visit the schools and Aganwadi centers, they should definitely talk to the teachers and students about the respiratory program, TB program and vaccination program.

District Immunization Officer Dr. Varinder Pal Kaur said that under the RBSK program, children from schools and Anganwadi centers are treated for 30 diseases completely free of cost by the Health Department.
He said that children are treated and counseled through the District Early Intervention Center (DEIC) running at the Civil Hospital and yesterday, the Honorable Deputy Commissioner of the district, Mr. Rahul Ji, also visited this center.

On this occasion, District TB Officer Dr. Rajbir Singh, District Mass Media Officer Mr. Sukhwant Singh Sidhu, RBSK Coordinator Mrs. Rajni Sharma etc. were present.
