Ludhiana, Dec 12 : To ensure peaceful, fair, and transparent elections for the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, as well as various Municipal Councils and one Nagar Panchayat, the State Election Commission has appointed two observers for Ludhiana district.
Ramvir, IAS, Secretary of the Punjab State Agricultural Marketing Board, and Puneet Goyal, IAS, Director of Food, Civil Supplies, are the designated observers. They assumed their charge on Thursday.
Ramvir, IAS, will oversee elections in the following areas: Machhiwara Municipal Council (15 wards), Sahnewal Municipal Council (15 wards), Municipal Council Mullanpur Dakha (13 wards), Nagar Panchayat Malaud (11 wards), Municipal Council Khanna (1 ward), and Municipal Council Samrala (1 ward).
