As part of the National Youth Week celebrated across the country from January 12 to January 19 every year, National Youth Day was celebrated by the NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club at Government Polytechnic College Batala under the leadership of Principal Davinder Singh Bhatti and under the supervision of Program Officer Tej Pratap Singh Kahlon.
The function, which was held under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Youth Services Department, Gurdaspur, was inaugurated by the Principal of the college, S. Davinder Singh Bhatti and various departmental in-charges by lighting the time.
On this occasion, Principal S. Bhatti made the youth take a pledge to be active for the welfare of the society by opposing drugs and other social evils. In his address, he said that the youth are the backbone of the country and the society, therefore, it is very important to show the right direction to the youth and protect them from drugs and social evils and motivate them for the progress of the country and their welfare.
On this occasion, Civil Department In-charge Shivrajan Puri, through his address, shed light on the life of Swami Vivekananda Ji and made the youth aware of following his teachings.
In-charge of the Electrical Department Vijay Minhas and Superintendent Harpal Singh Bhamri, through their addresses, inspired the youth to bring glory to their college, village, parents and the country, saying that the youth are the future of the country.
Placement Officer Jasbir Singh, through his address, encouraged the youth to invest their energy in positive and constructive work and said that the youth have a great contribution in the progress of the country.
At the end of the event, Program Officer Tej Pratap Singh Kahlon thanked all the attendees and said that the youth who face great difficulties and evils during their student days and engage in positive and constructive work never lose in their lives but always become a source of inspiration for others.
A large number of college students were present at this event, along with Assistant Program Officers Sachin Athwal, Rajneet Kaur Malli and Satwinder Kaur.
